County Bingos by State
How to edit these pages
Before editing these pages, take a minute to familiarize yourself with the way things look. We are striving to create a comprehensive, uniform set of pages as this will be most beneficial to all users. The current format of the wiki, including maps, dates, states, counties, and pertinent information, has been agreed upon by the community. If you feel that you have a way of improving upon the current setup, please say so and we as a community will consider it.
Please create a login. The link to do so can be found at the upper right of this screen. This way you can upload files (so that you can include maps and track the pages you've edited).
Please note that all contributors to the wiki should be considered equals; some people make more contributions than others, and some may have started editing the wiki before others, but that does not make these contributions more or less important than those made by anyone else. If you have changes to make, please do make them! And if you have ideas for changes to the format or content of the wiki, please use the "Discussion" tab at the top of the page for which you have an idea; it's up to the community to decide what changes, not the "elders" of the wiki. There is no hierarchy in place here, except where necessary (Jake is the Sysop because he runs the backend of the site).
Where to start
There are numerous ways you can contribute--you may choose to update on behalf of a only one or a few individuals, or even only your own information. Others may choose to update a certain state's page on this wiki, or only update users who are from a specific state. Still others may standardize and/or format state pages where required. All are welcome and greatly appreciated!
If you are having difficulty using the formatting this wiki is based upon, many users here would be happy to help. Alternatively, wikipedia itself will have information in this regard.
Ideas for making this project more complete
1. Decide on a way to display maps for states where multiple people have achieved a bingo (do we really need 100 copies of Delaware's map filled in?) ---How about ONE map of the state (with county names?) to show? If we color in the county that achieved the bingo for each Georger, we might be able to use it as a tool to figure out the toughest counties. (maps have been placed, but the rest hasn't been figured out)
2. Find out how many times a person has a county bingo and display that next to their map/name. Also, determine the date a person achieved his/her first bingo. Request that folks mention which county was the last to fall, and when. Also, if they know, how many hits they had in the state overall at the time.
3. Decide on cutoff criteria for individuals approaching county bingo, in terms of either the percentage of counties obtained, number of individuals closest to achieving bingo, or number of un-hit counties remaining (this can probably be a pretty liberal rule).
